A number of world-class organisations have expressed delight in South Africa’s entrepreneurial progress. A report commissioned by the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation and South African Breweries (SAB) Foundation indicates that South Africans have overcome many challenges and have earned the title of top entrepreneurial nation on the African continent.
The report was initially commissioned to gain deeper understanding of the critical role which entrepreneurship plays in social development. What it states about South Africa, today, is that the nation has triumphed against structural factors such as reduced GDP growth and the upward trajectory of multinational corporate market capture. With a positive outlook on the years to come, South Africa holds its rank among other middle-income countries.
Entities and institutions such as Rise Academy, Funding Connection, Women Development Fund and more signify that support for SMMEs is on the rise.
