This is what gratitude looks like

Facebook user ‘Shiara Punk’ took a single moment of her day to share a touching photo which has begun to go viral. Students at the Liberty Midlands Mall in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, were seen and heard as they embarked on their very first escalator ride. That’s correct: the youngsters all grouped together on their school field trip, practiced their safety tips and had the time of their life on their very first encounter with technology that so many of us take for granted.

On June 22 2017, shoppers in the Midlands looked on as they heard the excited chatter of a group of junior primary students touring the mall on a field trip. As they approached the escalators, they lined up against the balustrades and listened to their teacher’s advice on how to correctly and carefully make use of the system. For many students, the field trip marked their first encounter with urban technology.
